Work From Home Internet Business Growth Process: Getting Some Help

by Sampson on January 11, 2010

At Level One of the growth process of a Work From Internet Business we talked quite extensively about what is called the Infancy Stage. For a quick recap, at this stage it is the Technician in us who is running the entire show without allowing the Manager and the Entrepreneur in us to grow and flourish.  For an offline brick and mortar business, you are basically the boss, the marketing manager, the accounts clerk; you’re basically everything your business is.

For a work at home Internet business, the responsibilities do not change very much. You’re doing articles, videos, social media marketing, Pay Per Click, etc. You’re trying to master all forms of marketing at the same time. So you’re ending up spending 12-16 hours a day in your business, while all the time neglecting about personal development which will allow the Manager and Entrepreneur inside you to grow.

So now your marketing is starting pay off. You signed a new person into your business. You’re ecstatic!

Welcome to the second phase of the Work From Home Internet Business Growth Process. This phase begins when you begin having a team for yourself. Now this can happen quite quickly for some people and for others it takes longer. But they always get there if they stick and do not quit.

What most Internet Entrepreneurs who are able to get to this stage do is focus even more of their energy on the marketing. But hold on a minute! What can be possibly wrong with repeating something that working for you?

Remember that now you’ve started building a team. It can be tempting to assume that well your system is so simple that anybody can follow the training programs and videos in their back office. So you pretty much leave them on their own to ‘figure things up’ for themselves. But nothing beats that personal connection you can strike with your new team members especially in their early days.

Take the opportunity to connect with them as soon as possible and be a leader! How? By giving them a ‘guided tour’ of your company’s back office – their back office of the system. And how they can use the system effectively and easily. Even if your Internet marketing company provides training in this area, it is best if you can add that personal touch. And you should. Never leave them to be on their own. Don’t manage your team by what we call Management by Abdication.

New people who may not be familiar with this new industry get frustrated easily and overwhelmed by the massive amount of information they have to take in. And not knowing exactly where to start. And when they are not getting help from you their leader, their sponsor, the ‘natural thing’ most would do is to give up and quit!

It is also at this stage that you have to allow the Manager side of you to come alive so he can bring order and balance into your Internet home business. If there is no planning, you focusing too much on team members would mean that your personal marketing and development would be suffering.

If you can outsource some of your marketing efforts like Article marketing, to free up some time for other things.

You must also allow your Entrepreneurial side to also grow and flourish so that you have a clear strategic development path for your business. Where you want the business to be in 2 years or 5 years time? Your vision for your own life. How you want to impact other peoples life. As you are probably aware, there are other things in life that are much more than money. Your ability to make an impact and leave a legacy behind are just a couple of them.

It is also of utmost importance to stay plugged in into your Internet marketing company’s personal development program. Your eventual success is purely dependent on how you develop as a person. Your team members are going to look up to you for inspiration and encouragement. And whatever kind of leadership training you provide them – by example, not just talk – they will also pass that down to their members.

If you desire to be coached by the best to build a business, and create wealth, for yourself, I want you to fill the form on this page and hit the submit button and I will see you once you are inside.

I wish you nothing but success
