Work At Home Internet Business Opportunity – The Slight Edge For Success

by Sampson on December 3, 2009

I once had conversation with a potential work from home Internet business partner which was quite interesting. I called him and after the intros the first question he asked was:

“So how much money are you making with your work from home business?”

You probably have asked this question or someone has thrown it at you before. At the time I didn’t know how best to answer this question (that was about a 18 months ago) as I was quite new. So I told him I’d just gotten started in the business.

A lot has happened since then but after the conversation I thought ‘why does this guy want to know how much money I’m making with a home business opportunity he’s considering joining?’ And the answer I have, now, is that normally when people ask questions like that what they are trying to do is to assure themselves that if you are making ‘x’ amount of money with the home business opportunity, then they would also make it with same system. Do you agree?

That assumption is not quite right. However, is it important to know whether a particular home business opportunity has worked for someone before you join? Yes, very important! However, it is not the ultimate determinant of success for the new consultant who just joined. I explain in a minute…

Two seemingly similar people are given the exact same opportunity. One takes it and has remarkable success, the other doesn’t. One wins, the other does not.

Why?

In case you are thinking the one who wins is more intelligent than the one who doesn’t, hold on a minute. It’s not a matter of luck, timing nor fate. It’s not a matter of skill or talent either.

What the majority of people fail to realize is that although we may be given the same business opportunity, how we approach and conduct the business is what makes all the difference. Besides, are we’re all so very different that the how-to that worked for me may not necessarily be the how-to that will work for you although we have the same opportunity.

Why not? Because of differences in our philosophy. And this is not some high-end stuff about Socrates or Plato.

Your philosophy is what you know, how you hold what you know and how it affects what you do”.[1]

“Your philosophy… Creates your attitudes…Creates your actions…Creates your results…Creates Your Life“. [1] (emphasis mine)

Your philosophy is simply your way of thinking; your view of life. This is what drives your feelings and attitudes, which drives your actions.

By and large people are looking at the wrong places. They are looking for a breakthrough in their home business, that someday they will wake up to realize that they have the largest team overnight, that they’re making six-figures. That a miracle happened and now they’re they best recruiter in the Internet marketing world. It hardly happens, if ever.

The secret ingredient to finding your how-to that will get you the same results given the same opportunity as the other guy is through the Slight Edge philosophy.

The Slight Edge philosophy is to understand patience; that little steps, compounded, do make a difference. That the things you do daily to build your Internet marketing business, those things that don’t look dramatic, do matter.

For example submitting an article a day to an article directory, though may look insignificant, over time will all the difference as to whether you succeed with your home business or not.

The place to start in order to have results in your work at home business, in whatever you want in life, is to understand and apply the philosophy that consistent, seemingly insignificant daily steps is what makes all the difference between success and failure.

Start taking those steps now and stay at it until the results you desire begin to show up.

If you are an entrepreneur or desire to be, and you understand this philosophy, I invite you to fill up the form to the right of this page. Create your own Internet lifestyle with consistent steps guided by those who have been there and done it.

Hello Sampson,
I hope this finds you doing well!
I agree with this post!
Having been in network marketing for a few years I have found many different answers work for different people. My favorite is this. When I’m asked how much I make I only say not as much as you’re going to make…it generates a great discussion. Having said that I have something I would like to introduce you to if you don’t mind. The reason I’m doing this is only one. We are all missing the boat. It doesn’t matter what we do if we’re getting value from anyone we should be giving back in appreciation yet few do. Take a look at this new technology and let me know what you think. Feel at home there and take advantage of my free offer.

I appreciate you!

Sampson,
Good article. That’s a tough question to deal with, “how much are you making”.
But what really clicked is when you started talking about “people are looking at the wrong places”.
Much food for thought.
Thank you for sharing.
Diane
