So how do you go about building a legitimate home based business? Read on below to find an answer to this question…
How often do you remember that one negative remark a family member or friend made about you, your clothes, or your dog? I bet you in the midst of 99 positive remarks, most of us always remember the negative one and sometimes it stays with us for the rest of our lives.
It’s no different if you want build a legitimate home based business. In his book, “How To Win Friends And Influence People”, Dale Carnegie admonishes all who want succeed in business, and in life in general not to criticize, complain or condemn. Why? Because it gets the other person or persons on the defensive and they become hostile to you. This certainly does not auger well for building a great and winning team.
Yes, it feels great giving out the harsh words to the other person as you most probably have experienced. But people have a reason for doing what they do. It’s better for us to try and figure out th motives behind the actions. That’s a lot more profitable in our quest to build a profitable, legitimate home business than criticism, complaining, or condemnation would accomplish.
I certainly agree that sometimes stinging criticism is rightly justified and we should surely let someone know when they are wrong. However, it’s not always what you say that makes the difference; sometimes it’s the way you say it.
We stand a better chance of inspiring people or our team to greater heights without criticism than we would if we always complained or criticized at every wrong turn. In the end, we would build stronger teams with strong relationships.
This inevitably would result in us being more profitable in building our home businesses. It works in the home as well; just that this time we would have stronger bonds with our spouses and kids. Try it and experience the difference.
If criticism is unavoidable, give your positive remarks first and then criticize afterwards so as to soften the impact. You stand a better change of winning.
