Everyone wants to “get organized”, and it’s no different for the Work From Home Entrepreneur. Now for a small offline, brick and mortar business, creating an Organizational Chart can have a more profound impact on your company than any other single Business Development step. However, our focus is on home, Internet businesses, where more often than not it’s only one person who runs the businesses from their home, online.
So, for the Work At Home professional, it’s obvious you are sole proprietor, and everything resolves around you. So how do you create an Organizational Strategy for your Internet Home Business Opportunity, and is it really useful to you in helping you achieve your goals?
The answer is a resounding Yes!
The best way to look at it is to create an Organizational structure based on the various functions you have to fulfill as a Sole Proprietor, or Internet Entrepreneur, to be more specific.
For the sake of completeness, here is are some of primary functions you have to perform (as if you didn’t know it!)
- You’re the President and the Chief Operating Officer, accountable for the overall achievement of your Strategic Objective. This is crucial. Because a lot of people sometimes make the mistake that it’s their company or sponsor who is responsible for their performance and results. As we’ve discussed in earlier videos and articles, the business which you are selling is only a means, a vehicle, for you to achieve your Primary Aim. And you are solely responsible for your own results, using the business and your sponsor to help you achieve those results.
- You are also responsible for Marketing, Operations and Finance matters and Research. The best way is to create a Position Contract for each of these positions.
A Position Contract is simply a document that identifies who’s accountable for each position and what they’re being counted on to produce. Then put your signature on the document for each of these positions because you fill each of these positions.
You hold yourself accountable for each of the requirements of these positions and ensure that you achieve them.
It’s essential to document everything that’s required and what’s needs doing to achieve those requirements. A time may come when you might want to sell your website, essentially your business, to someone. Since we have been looking at the Franchise Prototype of Internet businesses, your documentation will remove the human factor of discretion on how each amount of work is to be done. This is very important so go ahead and do it. When the person picks up your business’s Operational Manual and start using it, it will give them a sense of commitment and accountability and help them go out there and make it happen for themselves.
There is an Internet Business Opportunity which is the Franchise Prototype of online businesses. I invite you to take a serious look at by filling the form on this page.
