Create Wealth From Home – It’s All In The Name You Give

by Sampson on November 4, 2009

“Reputation, reputation, reputation! O, I have lost my reputation! I have lost the immortal part of myself, and what remains is bestial.” That’s what Cassio says in Shakespeare’s “Othello”.

And Dale Carnegie says you should give your dog a good name – I didn’t say it. Now if Mr Carnegie said it then you know it’s a classic.

The life lesson that these two legends are telling you and me is that a person’s plight is hopeless once their reputation is tarnished. Try as they may to clean up and rebuild their image, they are always tagged with the criminal act of the past.

What has this got to do with creating wealth from home, online? Or in your home Internet business?

Building a successful home based business that will create wealth for you in the short- and long-term is all about effective communication with people. This could be in your email marketing autoresponder messages, to especially how you treat your team members…

You can lead anyone readily if they have respect for you and if you have respect for that person for some kind of ability. I have said earlier in at least two of my posts on how best to use criticism to achieve greater interpersonal influence when it comes to dealing with your prospects and team members.

We all know how easy it is to lay into someone the moment they come up short. However, we may also come short in other areas as well.

If you realize that a member of your home based Internet business team is lacking in some quality that you desire, here is what is recommended you do:

Act as though that particular trait were already one of his or her outstanding characteristics.

The greatest English dramatist and poet, William Shakespeare, said, “Assume a virtue if you have it not”. By this, we will not be wrong, as leaders, to state openly that the other person has the virtue we want them to develop.

“Give them a fine reputation to live up to and they will make prodigious efforts rather than see you disillusioned”, says Dale Carnegie.

In fact my sponsor is very adept at this principle. She said something about me (sorry I’m not sharing it yet :-) ) a couple of weeks ago. I wasn’t sure whether I had this virtue but the moment she kinda confirmed it, now, I see it in almost all my Internet marketing efforts.

So in your leadership role, if you desire to change the attitude or behavior of others, to something you want, join me embrace Mr Carnegie’s time-tested advice…

“Give the other person a fine reputation to live up to.”

With that said, here is a different invitation that you might thank me for, sooner or later…
