But keep making those decisions. Take the time to build those relationships with the right people and enjoy richer, lasting friendships who will add meaning to your massive amount of success you create.

Are you putting some of your monthly earnings in a savings account or you’re living beyond your means and hoping for a lucky break one day? • Your Life

This the the biggest area of all because it includes all the others. There two life paths: you are either going down and ultimately end up with regret, OR you’re going up and will end with fulfillment.  It’s your life. What do you want it to mean when it has run it’s course? After all what we are looking for here is simple little things that are easy to do, as they are easy not to do.

So again take some time to answer the four questions above concerning your own life and how you want to be remembered.

All too often I hear and read about people slamming Internet marketing, saying all the negative things they’ve experienced about it. For example you will not become an article marketing genius by writing only one article per month. You can not be intelligent in any field of life by reading and practicing one time. You cannot get a good relationship with someone by spending a whole day with the person and never seeing them again until 10 years afterwards.

All these actions require repetition and daily consistency to generate results. Unfortunately, in our ‘instant world’ today, many people who fail in their work at home Internet business or generally in life, quit after a couple of attempts fail to yield the desired results. That is why daily, easy to do, consistent actions – the essence of The Slight Edge – comes to be the norm of anyone who succeeds in their work from home Internet business and create wealth online. There is a wonderful story about two frogs which teaches all those involved in Internet Website Marketing, about the value of being persistent with your marketing promotion efforts.

Here is a sweet, short, summary of the fascinating story…

The two frogs ventured out of their usual swamps, and as they kept jumping and hopping around, they found themselves in a milk pail half full of cream, at a diary. At first they were thrilled, and enjoyed themselves. Then it was time to move out, head back to the swamp.

However the milk pail so slippery, and they realized they were trapped. The first frog encouraged the second that they continue swimming and hope for a miracle. However the latter had already given up any hopes of making it out of their entrapment. He told the first frog that there are no miracles in a frog’s life so he gave up, sunk out of sight and died.

However, the first frog refused to give up. He kept swimming, and swimming, in ridiculous, pointless, useless, futile circles and hoping against hope that a miracle would happen. Fired by adrenaline, he paddled mightily, until he was fatigued and could swim no more, all the while battling against the negative effects of his brother’s dying words. Finally, he gave up and was ready to face his fate like a frog. Perhaps there are no miracles in the life of frog after all.

However, something happened… he did not sink. He stretched out his legs, and touched a chunk of butter he had just finished churning. He scrambled on top of the big lump of butter and viola! hopped out of the pail, and off to the swamp, alone but alive.

This is a huge lesson at being persistent with your home based business marketing efforts.

You tell people (family and friends) you’re building your own Internet marketing business and they ridicule you. They think you’re crazy or something or just want to get rich quick. Why don’t you just fit in like everybody else and get a job, building someone else’ dream. Some of the words they’ll say to you, if you’re not careful could kill off your initiative altogether, just like the dying words of the other frog. It can sap all the energy you have for marketing your system.

If there is anything we can learn about this story, it is that we have to persist, keep churning our cream until it becomes butter. However this persistence comes with little, seemingly insignificant actions that make all the difference as to whether we succeed or fail. Never give up until you win in your quest to create the lifestyle you deserve for you and your family.When it happens it may be like a miracle but you know that it’s not. That behind that ‘miracle’ is a huge amount of daily consistent actions that has gotten you there.

“Ask questions instead of giving direct orders”

The only group of people I have found who love to take orders from you and I are stewards in restaurants. And Italian waiters are especially gifted when it comes to taking orders as my good neighbor Mr Alessio told me in a conversation during one of our summer BBQ parties.

But outside the restaurant, even Italian waiters would not take kindly to you if you kept ordering them around.

The other day Rita, my wife, just told me to put the kids laundry into the washing machine before coming to bed. And guess what the moment she said that (as I felt I’d just been given an order), I had this feeling of rebellion well up in me and I wanted to reply back. I however controlled the situation. You know since I started Internet marketing training with the world’s top Internet home business, I’ve learned a great deal about getting on with people (my team). And, some of that training is making my home better as well.

No one likes to take orders as Dale Carnegie states blatantly in  “How To Win Friends And Influence People”.

From birth, most of us are told what to do: our parents, teachers, the government and finally our bosses at the workplace (for those who are still following the 9-5 grind). If you would agree with me, anytime we receive any of these orders, we never really feel empowered to make the change desired. But of course you would have to get on with it  if the next paycheck or the latest games console depended on undertaking the order. However, we know the feeling isn’t that great.

I read a report on how employees develop low morale and whether managers are to blame. The report stated that managers who use authoritarian top-down command and control management style of leadership are the cause of reductions of moral and workforce motivation.

Most employees find it demeaning, degrading and disrespectful.

How does this apply to you and I building legitimate businesses from home in order to create wealth from home? How do we apply this in our Internet marketing training?

We should encourage dialogue with our team members instead dishing out orders on how they should go about their own marketing strategies. For example, instead of saying “I want you to do 5 videos, 5 articles and 5 press releases every week”, say “I suggest you do 5 videos, 5 articles and 5 press releases every week if you really want to be successful with your web 2.0 marketing”. And allow the person to give you feedback.

When you make the suggestion and allow the person to come to the conclusion themselves, they feel empowered and are more than ready to put forth more effort.

A technique like that saves a person’s pride and gives him or her a feeling of importance. It encourages cooperation instead of rebellion.

Just remember that an effective leader will ask questions and make relevant suggestions instead of giving direct orders.

However, I will respond heartily to being ordered out of that burning house by the Emergency Services. Anyway that’s just a thought. A scary thought!

It is always easier to listen to unpleasant things after we have heard some praise of our good points.Therefore always begin with praise and sincere appreciation.

May I share this with you in an attempt to illustrate my topic? I promise I won’t bore you…

I have a team member from Down Under in my small home business opportunity. When she joined a couple of months ago, we agreed, per her own suggestion, that she would write an article per day as part of her personal marketing campaigns. To give her some guidance on Article Marketing, I asked her to send me her first couple of articles for a personal review from an experienced eye before submitting to the Article Directories.

First two weeks passed after our agreement and she hadn’t send the articles. I phoned her to find out if she needed any further assistance to which she said no. She just hadn’t been able to get round writing those articles as procrastination had gotten the better of her. So we re-scheduled for her to write them articles.

One further week passed, then two weeks and then 4 weeks, still no results.

So on our next one-on-one consultation I decided to apply one of the Internet marketing jewels I learned from Dale Carnegie’s “How To Win Friends And Influence People” – that a leader will begin will praise and sincere appreciation.

I know that she had set up her business back office very well with no support from me so I complemented her for taking the initiative and getting things done correctly. She has also done her keyword research on the articles she wanted to write and these were and are very good keywords. So I praised her on that too.

Then I suggested that we go through the procedure of writing the first article which she readily agreed.

Guess what two days after we talked, I had five well written articles in my inbox awaiting my review. I got more than I bargained for. And boy is she a good writer! She’s off to a flyer now.

OK that’s the end of the story… Here are the lessons…

I could have slammed her for not being serious about building a legit home business. I could have criticized her for not keeping her word. But I have become adroit to do that now.

Someone may not be up to speed but as Mr Carnegie puts it, beginning with praise is like the dentist who begins his work with Novocain. The patient still gets a drilling, but the Novocain is pain-killing.
